RiseUP 2022
LOGAN, OH | 03.19.22 | RISEUPOHIO.COM
WHERE WOMEN JOIN TOGETHER TO FIND ANSWERS AND FALL MORE IN LOVE WITH GOD.
about
Welcome to RiseUP. We're excited to host an event where women have the opportunity to laugh, relax, and spend quality time growing closer to each other and to God. We are looking forward to seeing how our Heavenly Father continues to transform Southeastern Ohio through a strengthening of women rooted in God's amazing grace.

The people behind RiseUP decided to start this annual event in 2012 when God called them to better themselves, grow closer to Him, and bring other women along for the ride. The event has continued to grow and incredible blessings have resulted. RiseUP is non-denominational, non-judgmental, and open to any woman looking for more.

Jennifer Shaw
Meet our speaker.
Jennifer Shaw is a Telly Award winning speaker, author, singer, songwriter and five-time Top 40 Billboard artist. Her ministry has been featured by Focus on the Family, Insight for Living, FamilyLife Today, Autism Speaks, Joni and Friends, and many more. Her new book, Life Not Typical: How Special Needs Parenting Changed My Faith and My Song, has brought national attention to the issue of Sensory Processing Disorder.

After being classically trained as an opera singer at the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, Jennifer became a professor of music at Cedarville University before she felt led into her current role in contemporary music. Her testimony includes tragedy and triumph, being both an adoptive parent, and the parent of a special needs child, and losing her father to Lou Gehrig's disease. With the release of her fourth album, Someday, her songs offer hope in any circumstance and also reflect her recent experiences on the mission field in Asia, Africa, Central America and the UK.

Barb Roose
Meet our speaker.
Barb Roose is a popular speaker and author who is passionate about equipping women to win at life with Christ-empowered strength and dignity. Since 2005, Barb has been speaking to audiences in the US and abroad, including national platforms such as the Aspire Women’s Events, She Speaks Conference, and the UMC Leadership Institute.

She’s a Bible teacher who loves following God more than anything else in life. Barb makes God’s Word come alive through powerful teaching, personal stories and practical next steps. Audiences love her authenticity and humor. She’s a real woman who has experienced depression and anxiety, parenting challenges, family addiction, trauma and long seasons of walking by faith in unanswered prayer. Rather than teaching audiences to follow God to get what they want, Barb inspires audiences to discover that God is all they need!

Barb is the author of multiple books and Bible studies, including her current releases: Winning the Worry Battle: Life Lessons from the Book of Joshua and Bible study called Joshua: Winning the Worry Battle. Barb’s writing has been featured in magazines and blogs such as Simple Truth Magazine, iBelieve.com, Crosswalk.com, More to Life Magazine, Just Between Us Magazine, Cherished, InCourage, and Women of Faith.
Before her transition to full-time speaking and writing in January 2016, Barb served on staff at CedarCreek Church in Perrysburg, OH for 14 years on the executive leadership and teaching teams. During her years on staff, Barb discovered her passion to serve overseas on missions trips and has made ten trips to central America since 2009. Prior to her years on church staff, Barb worked as a non-profit executive director and multiple award-winning pharmaceutical sales representative. She was inducted into the Medina City Schools Hall of Fame in April 2017.

An avid traveler, reader, and lover of all things chocolate-peanut butter; Barb and her family live in NW Ohio.
Special Music by
Jennifer Shaw

Jennifer's concert ministry is not the usual evening of music! With a blend of storytelling, song, Scripture, teaching, and even audience participation, people are inspired, challenged, and encouraged to live their lives wholly for God. Jennifer's concerts are worship experiences, and she desires nothing more than to point others to Christ.
